Senator Wyden Calls For CDC Funding For Gun Violence Research

Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) recently led a discussion with Oregon public health officials who are calling for ending the de facto ban on federal research into the causes of gun violence.  At the meeting, Robert Yuille voiced GOFRO's support for removal of the Congressional language that effectively blocks federal funding for research into what is clearly a public health issue.

Trauma Surgeon: "The worst is a wound from an AR-15 or AK-47 - high muzzle velocity weapons . . . destroys whole areas of the body."

This is hard to read but vital for all of us to know and think about whether we are working to end the insanity of mass shootings like Orlando, reduce gun violence, or simply remembering the importance of safety in the home and the field.
