Oregon House Passes Background Check Bill - SB 941

Today, the Oregon House of Representatives passed SB 941 to expand Oregon's existing background check requirements for gun sales to include private and internet sales with exemptions for transfers including family members, hunting partners, target practice, or to prevent eminent harm.  The bill also addresses mental health issues.  It authorizes a court to prohibit a person ordered to participate in assisted outpatient treatment from purchasing or possessing a firearm during the period of treatment.
